Featured Murano bead brooch

    Was this a practice, if so when please? I can’t find another online. The bead is an inch and a half long. Paid a couple of quid for it just to find out really. I was thinking 40s but that’s just a guess. Thanks for any help.

    I have a hunch someone bought the beads and then made the brooch. I don't think the metalwork is Italian.

    I found a couple of others with wire work names, Mother etc. Looks as if my 40s guess might be correct though as the 3 others I found all stated 40s. Don’t think this style really caught on.

    Haven't run across similar, but looks like a nice bead. Decent size.

    Cracking bead! That’s very nice. I’ve got lots of glass necklaces, I believe 1930’s? that have that square wire.

    Some of the twisted metal looks factory made which perhaps a handy bloke in a shed utilised to make my brooch.
