What are theses tiny things? 5/16ths of an inch in diameter. Black and white enamel on metal. No marks with the exception of a circle and a diamond impression on the "wings" of the stud. Found in a box of my Dad's old tie tacks and pins. Any info welcome. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I beg to differ - I believe them to be cufflinks, with the back being what is called a "double stirrup".
There may have been matching studs, but I bet they had regular shirt stud backings.
But I could be wrong - don't think I am mind you, but I could be.

    Hi Messi,
At that size they would fall out of the cuff holes. Having 10 sets of shirt studs and over 100 cuff links as well as 7 tuxs, I have never seen a cuff link of 5/16ths at least not for my cuffs. Ladies may have had smaller cuffs but these are guys studs

Good day! I found the same "tiny things" with additional "things" that look like tie-holders for the collar? Maybe you can help me? And if yes, for what collar would these be made? [IMG]

Button-downs came first to my mind as well, but I couldn't find any detachable starched button-down collars. But good find! At least we can be a bit more sure about the single-pieces use.

    During Pridemonth?

Jokes aside – indeed eight years ago. Lovely to build on an older question. May more insights be gained!
