Featured Is this considered jewelry crafts

Hi all. i purchased this at my local thrift. Frame Measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" and has a domed glass front.
I would like to know what it is called. jewelry art or something else.

Jewellery is made to be worn. This is some kind of appliqué craft, but I don't know the term for it.

 

Gem collage?

 

I think Jewelry Art is probably what others would look for if you are selling it.
Very pretty.

 

I'm seeing "jewelry art" or "jewelry art collage" on eBay although not all use what were originally pieces of jewelry. Some just use jewels.

It reminds me of those kits from the 60s but Ive only seen those in tile. This demands a gold frame to make it pop !

At first I thought it was a large brooch, but there is so much going on here with the layers it is impossible to see the back. It is all one piece though. Maybe too large for a brooch.

I've seen the kits for sale, or did in years past. It was made as wall decoration. (much too large for a brooch, Mikey.) To my recollection, admittedly of Grandmother's catalogs seen 50 years ago, they were just sold as decorative craft kits.
