The date and initials look like they were chased and not engraved.
What is in the rectangular mark? It may help figure out where it was made.
This does not look like it was cast. Hand fabricated rather crudely and hand engraved.
It is powered by a person's breath,a compressor would probably blow it up in your face.
The piece in the photo looks like junk,casting porosity,hinge misaligned and probably more not shown in photo.
It could be a glass replacement,the top half of the bezel looks like it was opened up and poorly burnished back.

It's has Kirihame Zogan inlay and probably in smith's name on the back.
The top piece is a little strange,it appears a hole was pierced and the face was soldered into into the hole.
Looks like they were made sometime after 1970.
It could be serpentine and not jade.
