In the top photo the stone appears to have inclusions,the pink stone's bezel looks like something is wrong with the bezel.

Synthetic opals were not available until 1974. Opal triplets were not common until the 1960's.
Lower quality amethyst can have inclusions and the opals appear to be triplets.
