I think its more complicated they said since its on wood.
They said it appears at first glance to be a J.W.C, but there are drag marks/ink that make it harder to make out. Back then the ink/pen drag marks...
Also, in front of the image I shared, there is a very clear J.W. and then that writing thats hard to make out.
