Having a longer look, specially at the base I'm now thinking it's French or Belgian and not English....
Maybe George Jones, Minton Staffordshire and many other potteries produced majolica. By the quality I would stay with the two main producers...
Looks bronze to me and quite well made, the stamp is the artist/sculptor. Anything on the base like a metal foundry company marks.
