I have seen similar called "Thousand Shou" or 'One Thousand Shou' (good fortune). Not sure if that is the case here.
Look up Basalt stone which is used quite a bit for these type of carvings.
If re-selling, I would use the term 'composite' :p You can see where sometime tried the hot needle test!
