I don’t know much about it, it was with some of my parent’s “hippy stuff” they had packed away shortly after they started a family. It’s about 4 1/2” tall. I used to have it hanging in my car in high school as a luck charm. A lot of people found it menacing or demonic, probably because of the horns. I never figured out whether it was something from a fairytale or just an imagined piece.
    Thank You.

Looks like a Henning carving from Norway, maybe?

Menacing?! Only if by "menacing" you mean "I might die from the adorableness of it all!" :hilarious:

Does look a lot like one of Henning's little swinging trolls...

It sure does. I did find some very similar but were fully painted. This seems pretty free of paint with the exception of the mouth and eyes. The surface is gnarly enough that I doubt all the paint would’ve come off naturally. Who knows....thanks so much!!

My first impression was Norway also.

It's the style. I can't remember some of the names, but I have a few. I'll take a look at mine and re-post.

Sorry first picture is a bit blurry.

    Here is another I have.

Note that the signature is pressed into the wood.

A little better pic of the first one amongst her woodland counterparts.
