12" plate from Pennsylvania, is this redware or something else?

    I'm unfamiliar with 'red ware'...but I sure like that piece!
    Can you show a profile, so we can get a better feel for the depth? Thanks...

    Wow-this beauty's so primitive it almost looks modern.Some type of bennington/rockingham 'spongeware' mayhaps ?
    PS-I know nada re antique pottery,but this is lovely.

    Try looking at some Swat Valley or Afghan pottery or there about and see what you think.

    Found this piece of Afghan pottery on worthpt. with those key words, there may be more with a more refined search. Looks very much like it.

    Great scholarship all-I wouldn't mind having that medieval bird bowl.
    PS-Pottery research aint a lazy persons hobby!
