14K HGE Costume jewelry ring. Stone?

    Immm backkk.

    I know it's costume jewelry and what HGE means. It does have a makers mark that i haven't figured out yet and was wondering if the stone was just glass? It was very cheap to use as a learning thing for me.

    HGE means High Grade Electroplate...thin 18kt over base metal.

    I thought it was Heavy gold electroplate. anyway It's the same thing.

    it's not Uncas. Beyond that I got ...zilch. It looks like a V in a horizontal diamond. The stone could be some sort of dyed quartz, dyed chalcedony or ...? I've found some dyed blue beads that looked about the same. Never knew what they were either. I just called them Random Dyed Rock and didn't worry about it.

    Could be lab grown sapphire. Kyanite is also about this color but tends not to be this clean (free of inclusions, internal fractures, etc.)
