    Picked this up this evening

14k stick pin with a St Mark Winged Lion. The lion has a diamond (tested) in his mouth.

the green cabochon looks like glass? with inclusions

    any thoughts?

    thanks in advance

With the wings, it's more likely a griffon, no?

Could be beryl, somewhere on the color spectrum between emerald & aquamarine.

You didn’t have it tested when they tested the diamond?

But don't they usually have beaks? Whether designer had Mark's winged lion in mind...?

I saw the open mouth as very much like an eagle's.

He's really beautiful. Designed well. Looks more like a stone than glass to me.

I have a diamond tester, I tested it. But my tester does not test other stones

    Gorgeous stick pin, Picker.
Most winged lions have nothing to do with St Mark. It is a common symbol in most of Europe and Asia.

Just to put it out there, in this case bubble inclusions would not prove the cabochon is glass. The emerald without inclusions of some kind is a valuable rarity. One type of inclusion they can have is gas bubbles.

The diamond is an older cut.

Yes, an early brilliant cut, looks like an old European cut.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I will try to get some better pictures monetarily with my digital microscope (hopefully without reflection)

Nothing I can do about the reflections. If I turn off the microscope’s light and turn up the surrounding light I get a wide halo reflection that obscures the stone

I do not see any air/gas bubble. There is what appears to be interior fracturing or crystalline and a few flecks of brown.
