    Good day to all

I have a painting of a two birds which I would like to identify. It is signed E.Danvel 1878. Regarding the artist I have not been able to find anything on him/her. Would anyone know what kind of bird it is and also maybe the location. In the background you can see palm trees. It measures 33cm x 26. I appreciate your thoughts. 1.jpg 3.jpg 3.jpg 5.jpg IMAG1364.jpg 3.jpg

To me the artist's signature looks like it might be "E. Danvelly."

    Hello yourturntoloveit
It could well be. I haven't been able to find anything on the artist E. Danvel. I, ll do some more research. Thank you for your input

I see that too, Yourturn, although it's only visible to viewers who click on the picture to make it even larger. Another possibility is Danvell, with what might be a y with a long tail actually just an added flourish.

Lovely piece, Chris! I'd give it wall space in a flash!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Well... a day late and a dollar short.
Dave already diagnosed the cardinals, and I have nothing to add about the artist.
Good-looking birds in a really nice pair-pose. Pretty scenery.
    Very nice!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    My pleasure.
Dave knows the most obscure and astonishing things. I will add that I've also heard this bird called 'Spanish Cardinal' or "Cardenal Espanol' in Spanish, I THINK, but there a few Caucasian male brainiacs here who sometimes have to correct me. :hilarious:
