    Hello,

I'm new here but I thought I would give this a try. My Grandfather purchased a writing desk sometime around the 1950-60's that is of a very intricate design. From what he was told there was a clock that was built to sit on top of the desk and it matched the design of the desk. The desk/clock builder's name was William Houser from Detroit, Mi. We found some info that suggested that he had the desk with him at one point in time when he went to work on a intricate staircase at the Rose Inn near Ithaca, NY.
I'm hoping that I can find some info about the said clock so we can bring the 2 pieces together like they were meant to. I have attached a link to the article we found about the desk when it was at the Rose Inn and a picture of the desk where it sits at my parents house.
If anyone has any info on the clock it would be much appreicated!

Wow, Jason - that is quite a desk! I'm afraid I know nothing about it or the clock, but I thought I'd post your photo here so others can see it better:

Thank You! Yes it is quite a desk. The little drawers are even made of hundreds of little pieces of wood. From what we have been able to find out it was suggested that the little pieces were from small musical instruments, Violins, fiddles, etc...

Here are some more pics that show the craftsman ship. The desk was built around the 1890's

How tall is the desk? I just don't see how a clock fits on top.
