Hi folks, these were 2 pieces i picked up at local auction last week along with the painting

    https://www.easyliveauction.com/cat...8a6646f/homewares-and-interiors-sale-lot-255/

the best thing about them is the condition, no real damage at all (bit a gilt loss)

i think their right for meissen, but never 100%

i get the feeling they are from different periods

the first is stated as 18thC, and go along with that

thinking the second one is more 19thc though

    strike through for second

    saucers ?

    any thoughts or info appreciated

thanks Deb, don't know whether to take the hangers off or not, they haven't caused any damage yet, so might just leave them be

I was going to say take them off but there is always the risk of damage during the process. Those look like bear traps. Should be banned!

Honestly. I had one like that recently. I couldn't stretch it off without fear of drawing blood. I decided to cut it with snips. The plate made a noise like a splash cymbal and the hanger flew into my nether regions. No damage done fortunately.

:p:p:p Those hangers look 100 years old. If they haven't damaged the plates I'd leave them alone too.

Might be worth more than the plates :woot:

everything else went to the charity shop mate, i see so much of jasperware i can't be bothered with it and it never really sells

Pink always does well. Some other rarer colours too.

a lady had a nice little bit at the boot, solid black little creamer, even black where the white should be, think they call it basalt

she said it was 19thc because it just stated wedgewood, but the mark looked more modern to me

I like the look of Wedgwood. Until recently I just had some bits of the jewelry, but someone dropped a few bits of what looks to be really old stuff at the thrift. I need to photo it for a post...

There's quite a few pages out there about the marking on the old stuff but I can't find much of anything on the newer stuff for comparison and the company does like to revive many of their old products and styles. It's confusing. :sour:

I have one or two bits of the navy. I had a green over white pitcher, the older style, until my sister bagged it. The pink is about the rarest color, from what a late boardie (Gregsglass) said, and sells for good money. The Wedgwood blue sells for not much, if you can sell it at all.

Terracotta on black is another rare one. I've only ever seen one piece. A little pin dish.
