Hey folks. I just acquired a pattern 1907 smle bayonet marked RFI for Rifle Factory Ishapor. Issue date 1/41. Also the British crown over G.R.I. I have been told that they were all cut down to 12" blades, but this one is a 17" blade. Anyone know if this is a rare bayonet ? Thank you in advance for your help. Kevin.

Well, I wouldn't call it rare....( that's for cooking meat..) but ...maybe they started cutting them down in Feb....??

"From 1941, India began cutting down Pattern 1907 bayonets to 12.2 in (310 mm) and grinding a point into the remaining blade,"
