Rockwind, are you trying to sell the bedframe? You could try Craig's list, this forum is for furniture ID and sharing of knowledge and appreciation.

We have a sell forum on Antiquers, but only for people who have been a member for quite some time.

well,,, i would just give it to someone cool who is really into antiques,, i think it is pre-1900,, my mother in law,, just passed at 94 and her father slept in it as a kid,,, he was born in year 1900,, youngest of 3 boys. it's hand made for sure. i didn't want to say "free" cause i wanted to avoid certain types of people who want free stuff.

but i can delete if it's inappropriate. it's no problem. having a hard time finding a good antique bed forum. craigslist is a little scary here in las vegas.

In that case people will want to see photos. We don't have many people in your general area though.
It is up to the moderators. I don't think any of them are online now.
What about an antique furniture shop?

i know,, i figured if someone was actually interested enough, i could text photos. it's really nice wood though, maybe i will figure something else out,, i don't want to clog up the forum.

Rockwind-Here in Oregon folks just put items out on the curb with a 'Free' sign on them, your old bed should go quick.
I just found a small-size Victorian camel back trunk that way with a few interesting/curious items inside a few weeks ago.
If you need cash for it,post on Craigslist and meet the buyer in a neutral,well-lit public area.

well,,, some folks are not super techy,,,and when a iphone pic is too big to load, figuring out how to make it smaller can be a challenge to some, like me. and in the meantime,, life happens while i try to figure it out.

i did see 3 dots, as described for android, but when opening the 3 dots,, making it smaller was not an option. i think i will just take a video and up load to youtube and post a link. i wonder if i am allowed to post a link though? probably not.

i think i am going to try to identify the bed first before posting on give away forum (which i did not notice, btw, just went straight for the furniture forum)

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

@rockwind1, did you try emailing your image or images to yourself as “medium” size? THAT SHOULD put them under the 1 MB limit each so you can upload…..I was off line and came back on for a few minutes…heading off again, but saw your plight…….it’s late for me, but not for you….….once you’re used to how it works, it’s pretty easy, just takes a little getting used to…..

people who don't care about antiques and just want to make a quick buck,, kind of like a used car salesman. was hoping in a group like this there might be someone who is truly passionate about restoring old furniture, who might restore something and donate it to a struggling historical place that needs era appropriate stuff to make it look real. like a small version of plimoth patuxet near cape cod or the black forest open-air farmhouse museum in germany.

but i can guess what you meant

    Yes.

@rockwind1 , just wanted to thank you for thinking of us to offer your family's antique bed to someone in the group. It's not a project I can take on, but perhaps someone will want that. I appreciate when people want to recycle, reuse.
Welcome to our Forum and Thank you :)
