This teapot is in excellent condition and was found at the back of an auction lot of miniature glass animals and classified as a German teapot. The backstamp is underglaze (for Porzellanfabrik Königszelt A.G) and the shape and decoration seem consistent with use by the Kriegsmarine. Its a big pot, probably holds 4 pints. Would appreciate your views on this.

We had one years ago, it was looted from a captured U-boat by my Dad, all the galley stuff was aluminium.
Crockery & porcelain was more for the officers mess on bigger ships or landbased HQ bases.

I've been aboard her twice but don't recall those....
Sometimes officers brought their own stuff too.

    Yes, so do I.

No doubt a lot of these have been hit with a hammer, but this is the symbol for Kriegsmarine tableware and I cant see any other way of accurately identifying the piece without showing it.

And despite the symbol, the hammer stays in the tool chest

All that makes sense, but the photos on the site link I gave show crockery on the U boats

Not the one my Dad got, the crew surrendered and were taken prisoner, the boat was looted then destroyed off the coast of Canada in the Atlantic.
He also looted a US destroyer that was going down,
For years we had US Navy cutlery, ships library books and cream & blue itchy Navy blankets

A beautiful historic teapot! Standard mark for the Reich, same one on my K-98 rifles.

it's most probably a fake anyways. no German would have marked with "Germany" for the Kriegsmarine in those years. possibly recycled remains by the Polish to make some money online by spraypainting the swastika mark and giving a hard-on to old Germans.
or did the English mark their navy stuff with Grossbritannien ?:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
