Featured 1950's Contemporary Coffee Table (Well Known Designer)

Hi,
I am having trouble identifying this coffee table handed down from my grandfather. I remember him telling me it was a fairly famous designer. Photos show date and what looks like the furniture maker's "signature". Looking to sell this in the Burlington, Vermont area.

 

Jonathan, I don't now the maker, but perhaps if you look up "1950's kidney shaped coffee table", you'll find a match(?) I'm pretty sure there were a number of different makers producing this style in the 1950's.

 

Do you know where your grandfather lived in the mid-50's?

 

He would have been living between Ludlow, VT and Westport, CT ... Thanks everyone!

 

You might want to look into local furniture craftsmen in the area around Ludlow.

 

Some auctioneers or antique dealers on your area might recognize the mark.

lovely. did grandfather have any connections to Sweden ? perhaps teak ? reminds me of Svante Skogh.

 

Looks more like walnut to me, seems very well crafted but no clue who designed/built it.
I would check with MCM furniture dealers that handle these objects every day, fire off a few pics like here in an email and see what develops.
