SO sad to see what's happened to those places today!!!! I had found something similar BUT different, which maybe you all have seen.....how places looked in Civil War times VS today times.....the images are graduated transitions.....I don't know how they do it and am not looking to learn, but absolutely LOVE the site....I've scanned it MULTIPLE times, so hopefully it should be safe....never had a problem!!!
    ENJOY, if you go there!!!!!

Thanks for sharing the links cxgirl and aqui.
Makes me sad to see what happened to all those wonderful resorts.
My grandparents used to go to the Homawack for vacations.

I loved upstate NY. We didn't have the money to stay at a fancy place, but later on in life I stayed at the Concorde Hotel for a singles weekend. It was a bust.
    :(

My grandmother came from the same part of New York as those Catskill resorts. She never stayed in them however - her family had a small farm and took in summer boarders from around WWI until WWII. I still have distant cousins in the area.

Links from you and the usual suspects ;) around here are ok.
It's those from newbies that are worrisome. :)

A set of my great grandparents had a farm up there.
I was very little but very much loved going there. :)
They have long ago left us :( but thank you both for those days. :)

Whereabouts? Grandma grew up in a postage stamp of a town called Shandlee.
