1981 SPOLETO POSTER ARTIST? OFFICIAL POSTER IS BY JOAN MURO - WHAT IS THIS POSTER?

I found this beautiful poster at a local thrift store last year. After photographing it I enlarged the signature to try to make out the name & saw that it was a limited edition poster/litho #80 something (can't make that number out either) out of 275 - but it's NOT the Spoleto official poster! That was done by Muro for 1981 (

What is this? An application to be chosen as the official poster?
Can anyone make out the artist's name? Are they a known artist?
    I appreciate any help.

They may have sold out; 1981 official poster was done by Joan Muro!

You would think they could print more. Think you mean Joan Miró. They might still know something about yours; it's the official site. Never know, maybe they'll be very interested.

Charleston is such a popular tourist destination (not just during Spoleto) that I imagine there are a constant stream of posters created for sale in the many shops there.

The artist's surname seems to start with Polz, then a couple unidentified letters, and another z at the end.

Believe you are correct about this. They mention in their blog that 2004 is sold out & it too is missing from the ones available for sale. In case others are curious about the official 1981 poster:

Posters from many Festival years are by equally famous artists & still in stock. This must have been a particular hit.
