19th century cermic mug - English ?

    German? At first I thought the man was wearing pinks instead of golfing clothing. Now they just look like your classic ugly golf clothes with boots instead of golf shoes.

    It has the Bowdoin college sun on the back and it belonged to hubby's g-grandfather. He got it when he graduated in '64

    Socks and gaiters looks like. On the one hand they kept your pants from catching on stuff if you whacked your ball into the woods or a sand trap. On the other... well, they're still ugly.(LOL)
    It makes you wonder how the women managed in long dresses and corsets.
