benbenny007 I buy rubbish, and sell antiques

Seen these two tea and coffee pots which i wanted to buy but missed out on. The two were listed on a sale platform. But while i was researching the makers mark the items were sold within 30minutes of the listing. Did i missed out on them? Seller was asking £3000. Any ideas someone or does somebody have the reference books?

They look like they got some good quality carving to them and weight was almost 2kg

    Any info is welcome

Very weird thing is this set is extremely very heavy. Total three piece weights over 67 oz. Especially the handles, I feels they are solid silver instead of hollow.

    Hi Asian Fever,
Those pots are so gorgeous!! It is a shame they do not have a green emoji to add.
    They are really beautiful.

I do, they are solid, since the sound is different when I knock these handles.

just seems like a waste of good silver for the handles to be solid......:wacky::wacky::wideyed::wideyed:

Weight of silver has a function we do not tend to think of, and that is portable value in troubled times. Cash in paper money may become useless very rapidly, cash in a bank may become inaccesssible or worthless, but packing up the household silver takes no more space if it is thick or thin, it is on hand to escape with if need be, and as side bonus it may impress the neighbours, although they would not be picking any of it up, the sevants would be doing any lifting
Sometimes things that do not seem to makes sense in the circumsances we are used to are just common sense in other times and societies.
