Is this jasperware cheesedome a 19th century one? Made by Adams IMG_20250410_184536_1.jpg IMG_20250410_184554_1.jpg IMG_20250410_184719_1.jpg IMG_20250410_184740_1.jpg

It’s going to be very late nineteenth, after 1891 probably. Nice thing.

I didn't find any final date for this mark. On the site I mentioned, they say "into the 20th century", on other sites they mention 1920s, and some say early 1900s

Google search results seem now always to start with some AI production. Used some of the decoration on this as a descriptor to see if I could find out anything specific about it & got back this:

An "Adam's cheese dome" isn't a traditional offering to Apollo in Greek mythology. However, some modern practitioners may choose to offer foods and drinks that are associated with Apollo's attributes, such as music, prophecy, and healing.Offerings could include honey, olives, figs, or other traditional Greek foods, along with items like laurel wreaths, sun-related gems, or even music and poetry in his honor.

    Now you know.

I think AI is getting a little exhausted these days. The things i"ve been getting from it are less that useless, right into inaccurate. It all reads like a bad ebay listing.

It was absolutely Wedgwood who invented and patented true jasperware, but others followed. And then you get into sprigged wares.
