    1. First piece is a wood mold, measures 12 1/4" long, 7 1/2" wide and is 3/4" thick. has a strawberry design carved into it. Around the design is a band of metal that is raised about 1/8". Any ideas of age or what this mold would have been used for.

    2. Pair of scissors with a collection box. These are spring loaded. They measure 5 3/4" long. The collection box is 1 1/2" long, 1/2" wide and is 3/4" tall. Any idea what these would have been used for?

The second one is a candle wick trimmer.

The size of that strawberry is huge! I was going to say cookie mold, but now I wonder.

Thanks, Janet. I couldn't think of another purpose, but had not seen any that large!

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Cookie to feed a family of four?

It seems that the trimmers with little feet were matched with trays for them to sit on.
I come across all kinds of small trays.....& question what they were meant for.
Now I have a new perspective on what some of the may have been used for....

I have a similar wick trimmer as the OPs that came down in hubby's family. The ornate Victorian set is quite nice.
