I had great luck with the last one, so thought I'd try again. Any ideas are so very welcome. This 1st one with ships looks like Westdahl?, maybe with a smudged letter in front of it, IDK? I couldn't find anything with that name, unless it is unknown. I'll put 2nd one in next post. Thanks for your time.:)

    2nd one, thank again
The signature is on the bottom left corner. The bottom right corner has A/P, I'm not sure what that would mean either.

Scratch the 2nd one....I don't know how I didn't find that before. I wasn't using the right keywords for searching.:bucktooth:
    I think it's RC Gorman.

The surname on the first may be Westfahl.?

A/P - Artist's Proof. I'm pretty sure I've seen that image before. Or perhaps it's just the same "Gorman" style. Nice!

Thanks ever so much bakersgma, komokwa and bdigger!:) I really appreciate the help. A/P, artist proof, I learn something new everyday! Thanks!!
It has some wavy lines across the paper under the glass in the frame.:( I don't know if they would straighten out if I take the paper off the back and try to work on it? Should I try to attempt that, or leave it alone?
    I found another artist proof

I found a painting by an S. Westdahl from around the same time. The hazy shape before "Westdahl" in your painting kind of looks like an "S," too.

    Hi Tyeldom,

A couple of thoughts on the print...

The one on Ebay (although the title says 1976) also says A/P 1979, it is exactly like yours. This makes a bit suspicious that there would have been multiple Artist Proofs exactly like this, same scene, same year -- and if my eyes aren't deceiving me, it looks like the signature from both is identical. Compare the "R's", the way it fades out. Could the signature be a print rather than hand signed?

I do know that the buckling you mentioned is not good, and I fear removing it will probably find a buckled print. I think there are ways to correct this, but they aren't full proof and are a bit involved and might cost more time or money than the value of the piece.

R.C. Gorman, Amado Pena, "Southwestern" prints in general, have really dropped in value where I live, not sure about the rest of the U.S. I find some of them quite nice, but they are not selling well here.

Don't know much about the painting, looks like you have a few leads though! Best of luck!

Thanks Pat, much appreciated. :) That signature looks very similar. Too bad I can't find any info about the artist. He or she seems to at least have some talent.

    Thanks Lucille.b much appreciated :)
Very thorough and helpful info. Yes that buckling is a bummer. I Don't know what i'l do with it.
The one in the link also has a signature in the top left corner which mine doesn't have.?
