Featured 2 needlework pieces

    Hi folks

    these were 2 pieces i got from the new young chappie (wanted 5 for both)

    one is good to go ;) (though glass has to be replaced)

    the other unsure about ?

    any thoughts or info appreciated

    got new software/laptop so getting used to

    Nice finds. Both are 'reticella' lace, which is a needle lace of Italian origin.

    thanks for the info guys, that red really comes through nicely on the second piece.

    for a minute thought it maybe a dinner type tray ? as no string on the back

    there are old holes for that though ;)

    I would say a tea tray. I can't tell, does it have glass? It should have.

    Hi yeah it does, tried to discern if it was glass or perspex/plastic

    if the latter is true, that thought might be probable ;)

    Good find-at that pricepoint,I would've bought both.
    Can't say I've ever seen a modern fabric artist do a study/homage to an older style-but it makes sense considering how many painters do it.
