2 Pocelain? Sailor Girls Statue Once Part of Something Else?

    I found these today thrift store treasure hunting. The bottom seems unusual with the round insert? On each side - did these belong on something else at one time?

    Very cute. Almost looks tin glazed ? But if I had to guess Id say China or Japan just because of the eyes.
