I have had this little bird figure for at least 20 years. For whatever reason, I recall that it was supposed to be sterling silver over resin... Looking at it now, I cannot seem to find any markings on it at all.

Is anyone familiar with these figures? (And what kind of bird is it, anyway?)

    Thank you for any input!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The bird looked so familiar to me when you first posted it, but I didn't have time to go through any sources. I was just thinking a type of titmouse, but now looking at the lower body I don't think so. The shape of its head and body seem very familiar but I still can't place it.

This will bump it up again... :)

    Maybe a tufted titmouse?

Cardinals only come in red, I think.

Female cardinals are mostly brown, but you're right - I didn't even notice the yellow.

Well, there ARE yellow cardinals, but apparently, they're very rare.

Due to the rarity of this color pattern, I doubt my little miniature would have been made as a yellow cardinal - but who knows?!

The crest and the beak do not look like they belong on a cardinal, to me.

The one eye view looks like a baby and the other is very mature looking. Are you sure that’s not a sig in the edge of bottom. I will have to learn how to circle in red) also the purple on enamel tail could be the iridescent color of the titmouse as mentioned.

I hadn't noticed the purple. Interesting...

I've been looking again at the tufted titmouse and there really are some similarities. The long wing held downward is the only thing giving me pause on that.
