3 Antique Hubcaps - one with a Masons symbol

    My bottle guy stopped by my house today. He usually brings me any bottles that aren't milk bottles, and anything else he digs up that he thinks I might find interesting.

    He brought me these three 1920s hubcaps for wood spoke vehicles. One is for Chevrolet, one for Ford, and one has the Masonic symbol on it. Has anyone seen one of these before?

    My dad owned a garage for much of my childhood and he had a thing about hood ornaments . I remember them lined up along the top of a divider wall in the garage,and I do believe he had some of these type things as well. I asked my mom what happened to them when he sold the garage and she said he left them there. I had completely forgotten about them until your post !

    I guess they are pretty common to find out in the woods - the body of the car rusts away, the wooden wheels rust away, and the brass and aluminum hubcaps are still there.
    The Ford and Chevy ones look like nickel plated brass.

    ford.jpg these are not necessarily called hubcaps but wheel bolt caps or lug nuts , there may even be another name :)

    Growing up in a classic car loving family, I've heard them called both hubcaps and bolt covers, so hubcaps sounds fine to me.:)

    A masonic bolt is available on amazon and appear to be
    " the perfect way to showcase your Mason pride everywhere you drive."
