3 bell looking Asian things

Do the hooks go into the loops inside of the others - like stacking them up smallest to largest? I've seen something like these used as either wind chimes or "rain chains."

 

Hi, yes they do hook inside each other.

 

Does the smallest one have a loop inside too? That should mean there were more than 3.

You might find them described as "graduated" brass bells windchimes.

Yes the little one has a hook for another one, so I guess it's probably missing a smaller bell and a larger one too. Thanks all for the replies..

 

There could have been a flat decoration hanging from the smallest one, to catch the wind. Many Buddhist bells have that extra pendant, sometimes just thin cardboard with a prayer on it. This one is from Thailand:
