What country did this come from? It might help to identify the name.

Ok. I see the same thing Bronwen sees. Rajalekshmi was the name of a woman musician and poet.

The signature is that of the poet not the painter?

The clothing is cloth. Is it possible that this is a commercial item.

Ok, I was only asking because I didn’t see where on the front it was. Doesn’t make a difference anyway.

There was an artist from Boston that did paintings with textiles. She also did a series of circus pieces that were all textile that became very popular and sought after. I can't remember her name. I remember she was married to a cartoonist and I think he did cartoons for the New Yorker. She studied at the MFA. Is it strange I can remember so many details but not the name?
