3rd & final painting of the 3 I found at local thrift store (and paid a total of $100 for all) - it is a large, old painting of a rabbi? A Jewish historical figure?
It does not have a signature that I could find, but there is something written in Hebrew floating around him. Title? Artist's name?
Can anyone tell me who this is?
    What the writing says?
Anything else - would be appreciated.
    Thank you all!

Painting is probably done from the 80s. It's not old. You can tell be the bright white canvas that's on the bottom and it stappled not nailed.

No clue on the artist but seems like they were copying another work.

    Hi,
When I was in Israel many years ago I remember seeing hundreds of portraits of famous rabbis. It was in a small section of a really Orthodox
area, I wonder if that is how it was obtained.

Hebrew drives me nuts because so many letters look so much alike to the unpracticed eye & I have no way to know whether what I think a letter is makes sense in context, so I do this only a little better than a monkey could.

I couldn't match the characters all the way to the right of the top line to any letters, so did what I could with the rest. For my best shot at the transliteration of the remainder of the top line, IM Translator gave me an assortment of possibilities related to 'to be': exist, survive, live. For the second line it gave me a single reading: 'get scared'. Obviously something has been lost. Could be an exhortation to live in awe (of God). Totally guessing. Anyway, was hoping for a name. What I put in was:

    ו חיה
    זחדו

    R. Verburg, Verberg, Verbong. All very Dutch names.
If it is one of these, the painter is of Dutch or possibly Dutch Jewish descent.
