I got these 4 unsigned postcard size water colours in an old frame.
The glass was cracked and the frame was rotting and came out of a damp home.

I gently took it apart and found an old postal envelope used as backing, the stamps are Edward VI dated 1906 with addresses in South Wales and Berkshire.
I think the framer used anything that was laying about as backing so the envelope is not really important in dating and locating the pics.

3 of the paintings have pencil notations on the reverse with the location and one has the location written on the front.

I require some help reading the full text.

Pictures of the 4 paintings with reverses will be shown in the next post.

Third one all I can make out is July 85 (1895)

It looks like somewhere in the Lake District.

I see towards & enlargement does not change my mind. It's the view looking from Garden (not entirely convinced this is correct) towards Alderney.
