    Nearly walked by this.

Would be glad of opinions on date and country of manufacture

    5.6" diameter, 1.5" rim height

Nice. I'd like to say British but that base makes me think Chinese. I'm torn!

I have half convinced myself it is English, but my knowledge is pathetic. I have tried to identify the pattern and failed. So far I cannot see a similar example in Caughley, Worcester
    , Liverpool, Lowestoft or Bow

    I need help!

    Thank you!

I now know where to look further but would welcome any insights into how this was identified.

    Very grateful :)

(I posted on a FB group of which I'm a member as are others here on Antiquers.). It was the fact that it's handpainted, not a print, and the foot-rim and speckles. Also, English porcelain of that time would have been soft-paste which this isn't.

Here is what was posted about the particular characteristics that make this Chinese -- much as I have posted previously:

Just the usual characteristics of Chinese wares:

    Hard paste porcelain.
Small pitting and brown spots in the glaze.
    Hand painted decoration.
    Brown glaze on the rim.
