    I think it is Oggham. And I did not mis-spell that.

    I thought they settled on the single "g" spelling of this years ago........is it still a controversy?

    What does the rest of the piece look like? Any marks on the bottom?

    No definitely not Ogham, or Oggham, if you prefer :)

    No Terry Pratchett fans here , then.

    Oggham is what Nanny Ogg, a fat cheerful witch writes in. Ogham is a real script.

    In an oblique way I was suggesting it was not any kind of real writing,

    Thanks all for your time and replies.

    I believe I was able to ID the script type...... Kufic.

    The first roundel appears to be in a form called: Foliated Kufic, and the second roundel in some other form of stylized Kufic somewhat similar to this 18th/19th C. panel...
