Featured 800 Silver Fork and Spoon

    Picked up this 800 silver fork and spoon and wondered would anyone have any information or recognise them.Both are marked for 800 no other marks any help greatly appreciated . P7190031.JPG P7190032.JPG

    I agree that Italy would be my first guess when presented with an 800 silver item with no other indication of origin.

    What the heck are those other animal heads on the spoon? Ostrich?

    I thought swans as well. Could be geese, like the geese of the Capitol (Rome).

    Although it is a strange combination the goat's head fork is very elegant, pleasing to the eye. Well, my eyes, at least.:)

    Beak is all wrong for waterfowl, be it swan or goose. That's a grain eater's beak.
