And that's literally all that I know about it. Where was it made, and when? Anybody know? Hallmark photos included. I think it's very cute :)

Size? You need a photo of the front with the lid half open.

    Why would I need that?

And it's about 2.5 inches or thereabouts.

German, I think. That mark on the right, that looks like a female head, becomes a crescent moon when zoomed on.

Yep, I was waiting for that too.
Why, because it looks like it should have a velvet lining inside.

For obvious reasons you don’t. It is the online forum friends that need it to help you. ;)

Understanding that would mean I had read the entire title.
Many of a time (most always) I just look at the pictures. Then read boardie's comments.

Thought I might have more luck interpreting the maker's mark with fresh eyes this morning. But I'm still confused about what's there. Any chance of one or two more views of it, @Shangas ?

I'll snap a few more photos later today and see if I can get anything better.

I'm pretty familiar with German hallmarks but I'm not recognising anything as yet. May well be the crescent & crown mark, but I'll see if I can get anything clearer.

Because you should include as many details as possible, every little detail is a clue.
