80s Minimalist Sig Help

Intrigued but cannot read sig. I can’t resize image correctly but it’s basically a big hard edge arrow. All help appreciated. First name Robert? View attachment 265893

TY. It’s a drawing on paper. Torn out of an artist portfolio showing spiral ring tears but expensively framed. Basically a big arrow. There was something familiar about it. I don’t have an image. Just the signature.

 

Of course I want it to be Mapplethorpe but it definitely ISN’T LOL.
Hoping one or more of you can figure something. I’m at a loss and I’ve been playing with it for hours.

That’s where I started but getting nowhere on the rest of the name and something in my gut tells me it’s a listed artist. Dang these guys that made their sigs so illegible. Worse than doctors.

I’ll borrow that from ya komokwa. I’ve spent so much time trying to figure out the last name and can’t come up with anything. I’m pretty sure the first name is Robert but that’s useless in itself. I’ve such a gut feeling that the piece is a collectible artist but I’m passing on it and the people who are selling it had no info.

I don’t agree Jeff but but bottom line is that I don’t have an image. I messed with it and couldn’t pull it back. There are illegible artist sigs that I know and I had hoped this one might be familiar to someone that knows 80s contemporary art. I realize that’s a long shot on this board but all I needed was one person who knew it. The image was a broad flat hard edge arrow. Black on white. I don’t think the image would have helped one bit.

 

So true yet my gut feelings are usually pretty good but...

 

maybe...maybe not....
