They are ~3 1/8" diameter, ~1/4" high, ~1.5mm thick. Some have wider edges, an' there are other subtle differences indicative of one-at-a-time craft. The 5 notches weren't indexed, but eyeballed; their placement around the rim is not uniform, nor is their depth, nor finish detail. Most of these trays have been carefully & lightly marked with a scribe: RCD 38, beneath the back edge. I'll risk the assumption that those are a previous owner's (or the artisan's) initials, an' the year.
Those notches are very similar in design to those on a sterling dish I posted a few minutes ago in Silver, but on that piece there are 6, versus 5 on these. One of my questions is about a correct name for the 'petal' pattern; it seems so understated that it may not be petals, but danged if I can put another name to it. What say you? Any other comments are certainly welcome; Thanks for lookin'!
