Hi guys, I just picked this up today and gave it a light cleaning. Wondering where to start with research or if any of you recognise the initial, though it is very basic.

It is initialled AB but that's all and the 185 on the back my gut tells me looks like later Biro pen but Im often suprised.

    What dyou think?

I think research will be fruitless. (No pun intended.)

Looks like L 85 to me,

Could be a sloppy £ or even L for Lire / Lira which could be Italian, Maltese, Turkish.

Likin' it Deborah :hilarious: sadly I expected this. Still a 19th century still life isn't too bad on its own.

    Thanks guys
