So I bought these. I wanted them so bad. I put in an absentee bid and I did get bid up but I still got them at an unbelievable price I was willing to go higher. I paid 40 for the large one with teeth and 30 for the smaller one. I know the story on the Metzler & Ortloff but I can't read the hallmark on the one with teeth. It looks like it is a crown over a B... Maybe? It's badly faded. There is also a number 40 on his other foot. Anyways, I am really happy with them. I don't normally buy stuff even though I want to a lot of times but when these guys came through I just had to have them. I don't know why I just did. LOL! I wanted the Lladro too but that was way out of my budget. LOL! I will be keeping these.

I have a feeling that first one actually is Lladro; you may have scored. Around here they sometimes have a tough time giving it away these days. My First Rule of Antiques is: collectibles aren't. Buy them because you like them, which is exactly what you did.

Wow. Really? That is pretty cool. The value doesn't really matter to me though. Like you said I bought them cause I liked them and with me they shall stay. At least for now.:) Thank you.

Don't take my word for it, but I can see enough of the mark to make me wonder.

5/31 was Peter's first wish to her in 2015 but it is today 6/1. :)

Happy birthday! If your birthday was yesterday, 5/31, mine was also. As I'm no doubt probably 2 decades older, we can't share the year - lucky you!

I was about to order for myself the first volume of Replacement's book Crystal Stemware, vol. 1. Our daughter quickly stopped me with no explanation. Later after a steamed lobster dinner, my soul food, out came the gifts with one being that book. Another gift was a plugable digital microscope I've wanted for some time.

Ooooppps just noticed someone said 38. Welllll instead of 2 decades older make it at least 3 decades plus 6 years. :(

Your 2nd Dog figurine is showing the mark for Metzler & Ortloff (Germany). I did some internet research on them about 4 years ago, but have, of course, forgotten all of it. But I remember it was somewhat easy to find. Your 1st dog is likely German as well. They made a lot of really nice dog figurines.

Oops, didn't read all of your first post. You know about M&O already. Sorry.
