I'e tried looking up just as pottery Mexico clay figurines but not finding anything. Surely there is a name for these little guys to help narrow down my searches?

    Wow, that's quite a crowd!

Here is the closest thing to yours that I found online:

Seller is offering 3 of them and describes them as:

Vintage Mexican Natural Clay Animal Figurines - Animal Band
    Pig with flute 3” x 2 1/2”
    Elephant with drum 2 3/4” x 2 1/2”
    Mouse with saxophone 3” x 2 1/2

Seller also claims that they are 50+ years old. (I have no clue about that...)

Animalitos? That's what similar Native American clay animal figures are called in New Mexico.

Is it possible any of these are whistles? Can't tell seeing only the front view, but some are in the shape of traditional Mexican folk art whistles, although they are usually painted.

Jake, if you could sell them individually for even $10/each, you'd make a very nice profit! (If you do that, don't try to sell them all at once & flood the market!)

Are the 3 painted ones signed? They look like different work & remind me of some pieces I have by Margaret Gutierrez. Not quite her style, but maybe also Native American? She's from the Santa Clara Pueblo.

Maybe the ones with holes are sort of like finger puppets & you can make them dance?

Thanks for posting the photos of the back...so not whistles. I'd agree, they are just souvenir pottery figurines. The unpainted ones are from Atzompa, as say_it_slowly pointed out. Glazed ones are illustrated in Ceramica, by Amanda Thompson.

The three painted ones are from Chiapas.
