    Don Taylor and Bill Robb
    The Human Wheelbarrow
    N.Y. City to Los Angeles

I 'found' some pictures of older sales on my husband's PC and have been having fun going through them and filing them on my computer.
This photo postcard did really well making a tidy profit and is definitely one of the more unusual things I've seen.

There's only one mention that I could find in a Toledo newspaper that wondered if the trek was ever completed. This took place in around 1934.

The picture quality is not the best but it's the only one I have. ebay 1293.jpg

That reminds me of the childhood explantion of mating dogs

The front doggie is blind and the other doggie is guiding him to St. Dunstans.

Nice card. Reminds me of one of the most famous motorcycle photos of all time:
"On 13 September 1948, Rollie Free achieved the US national motorcycle speed record at Bonneville Salt Flats riding the first Vincent Black Lightning. During test runs Free reached average speeds of 148.6 mph. To reduce drag, Free stripped to his swimming shorts for the final run, which he made lying flat with his legs stretched out and his head low, guiding the Vincent by following a black stripe painted on the salt bed. The stunt worked as Free covered the mile in 23.9 seconds, passing the 150 mph barrier."

That salt would have to be really flat. The rigid rear suspension would do some serious pummeling.

By way of apology to Jakatch for the thread hijack, I tried to find out more about Don Taylor and Bill Robb and their human wheelbarrow.
Nothing on the internet that I could find. But lots of other odd photos.....
In the category "things not to do with a tiger" I found this:
