A little about me:

    Pursuing objects of the past gives me great joy. I find a connection with people of a bygone era that makes it more real for me than just reading about them, although I love reading too. Even as a child I collected rusty, faded, well-loved bits and bobs.

    This old soul teaches A.P. English to juniors in high school with a flair for the romantic, always encouraging students to look beyond the words for deeper meaning.

    Based on your vivid descriptions, I can tell you're a reader. :) Do you like to write, too?

    I'm a huge fan of the Gothic, which I think contributes to my obsession with antiques.

    Well, more power to you, Jan! ANYONE who can teach at the high school level these days has my great respect!

    In my "second career," I taught (one-on-one) for 15 years, both research skills and writing/editing (essays and college applications) at a rather nice boarding school. Much as I loved it, I can't imagine dealing with a full classroom of HS Juniors!

    I'm quite a reader, myself, and also a lifelong lover of "old stuff."
