20170423_112904 (1).jpg He's been sleeping a long time, but where he came from I don't know.
He did make me figure out how to resize a photo for the first time though !

I think he came from England with my Mother's family - that was the 30s, but there are no markings on him.

I think he was made in Japan - can you show a photo of the bottom?

I've searched him for marks and found none. Here's his bottom. 20170423_112951.jpg

    SBSVC, thanks for searching !
It's very possible they're from an Asian design that was used for a number of decades. I say that because I know this was in my family quite some time before I was born. My Maternal Grandfather traveled much of the world as an agent /representative for a number of London businesses and they acquired a lot of stuff.
(We have pics of my maternal Grandma going up the Amazon on a steamer. What a vacation!)
Wiped out in the depression of 19-21 and he died. Hard times. Family saved what they could and emigrated to Canada in two waves. Youngest, daughter (my Mother) didn't get much.
Also, a decade or two back, I saw an item - new - in a store IDENTICAL to one my maternal Granddad picked up in China.
The experience did help to put "things" and "stuff" in a new perspective.
