A question about silver ware please. TIA

Hi all I was inspired by all the talk about silverware so I took a look at mine here which I haven't looked at in years. This is not my parents. I bought it when I moved into my apt years ago.

I have the original receipt from when I bought the set. I bought it in 1992 so it was easier for me to track down the pattern having the receipt. This is not real silver or old old. And looks pretty worthless. I think I may have used a few pieces a half dozen times at most.

I found some listings on ebay.

I am just curious as to the year they put in the listing as 1969. Does that mean it is the year it was first introduced and they kept on making that pattern continuing on till I bought it in 1992.

No rush, but I would appreciate some explanation so I can understand how flatware works when listing it.
