Featured A small piece of treen.

    I bought this small piece of treen about 45 years ago at a country auction for 25¢.

    It’s a simple cylindrical box of lathe turned wood about 4-1/8” tall and 2-3/8” in diameter. A nice size, a pleasant shape, very well made.

    I like the finial, which has a 1/8” stem. I keep thinking: the tiniest little slip and that would have been gone.

    I just got around to photographing it and, in taking photos of the bottom, was surprised to see a stamped mark!

    It is very mellow and in it's simplicity - charming. Great find.

    I can't believe I still have these images... A little prize I had for years, until www helped me figure out what it was. Peaseware spice urn with 2 whimsys. Sold :(
