I still have to pick this up. But, I really like it from the photo. It's approximately 7" x 8".

On the back is the info. It might be more readable when I get it in person. But, I am able to make out some of it.
1st line: A portrait of Mr Latham (it kind of looks like Latham to me.)
2nd line: At the age of 56 (looks like a 5 to me)
    3rd line: Painted by M C La?????d , Derry
    4th line: The 10th November 1846
If the info is correct, and I've translated it properly, Latham was born 1790.
Any idea who the painter is?

What do you think the first word is?
He is the great grandfather of Dorothy ??????

Why is it, the unreadable parts are always the most important?

I think it reads "(Addendum" -- great, great grandfather of Dorothy ____land)".

Derry to Strabane is 19 minutes by bus.

I think it reads "(Alexander is great great grandfather of Dorothy Weiland)"
    With Alexander being A. McFarland

I could access. She says he was the artist who created these interior and exterior architectural works. The local historian who helped her make the identification was Ivor Doherty. His email address is below:

By the way, I think this is a wonderful little portrait in the perfect frame. It needs to be recognized as part of McFarland's body of work.
