Featured A Strange Looking Brush

    My Mom had this as part of her collection but I have no idea what it may have been used for or the age. It appears to be either ivory or bone and the only thing that makes sense to me is a bottle brush based on the shape. It is about 9 7/8" long. Thanks in advance for any help.

    I wonder if anyone can tell if the writing on it is Arabic? That might be a good clue, determining what language that little inscription is written in.

    Yes, it is Arabic script. Arabic script is also used for some non-Arabic languages, for instance Persian, Urdu, and Malay.
